Most yoga practices stimulate heat and exercise the surface of the major muscle groups. Yin Yoga is the compliment, providing simple poses held for a longer period of time, impacting the tissues and muscles at a deeper level while stimulating coolness. The slow pace and simple cues of mindfulness are far from boring! Intentional stillness with steady compression and gentle traction signals a “rest and restore” mode for the central nervous system and promotes healing in digestion, muscle repair, organ detoxification and emotional processing. These sequences, steeped in the Eastern Meridian theory, beautifully open and balance the body's energetic pathways. Join us as we embody heart and mind while befriending the physical body.
